OUR PRODUCTION
The main production consists of carrots & onions (white & red).

FACILITIES
We are housed in owned facilities of 20,000 sq.m. with a coverage of 3,300 sq.m. covered space, of which 2,000 sq.m. concern packing areas and the 1,300 sq.m. are the total of the cold rooms for the proper maintenance of the products after their harvest from the field.
The stages of productive activity briefly include the following procedures. CULTIVATION (Stage 1) The production of the products, which has the greatest importance in the whole process, is done by specialized land workers guided by a certified agronomist of the company. Thus, targeted interventions are made in the production every day, resulting in superior quality but also increased yield of the cultivated areas. At this stage we invest strongly in the training of human resources so that the correct and universal application of the cultivation standards that are followed is done. HARVEST (Stage 2) The stage of harvest is quite important, as it is what largely determines the shelf life of the product post-harvest. Both carrots and onions are harvested purely mechanically. Especially in the winter months, carrot harvesting is a difficult and costly process due to the bad weather. SCREENING (Stage 3) The sorting of the products is directly intertwined with the stage of Production (1), as the higher the quality of the cultivation, the easier the process of sorting is completed. In full identification with the moto "NO FOOD WASTE" an effort is made to utilize all products produced. The sorting of onions is mechanically supported by the appropriate human resources, while the sorting of carrots is done electronically with the most modern carrot sorting machine in the world, CELOX. The water treatment unit of our unit is also a part of the sorting stage and is necessary for the proper washing of the carrot. Being pioneers in this field, we are the only licensed carrot washing unit in the country that operates with complete recycling of washing water, thus saving over 120.000 cubic meters of water per year. This process is our biggest comparative advantage. A sample of the unit's operation is listed in the related video. STORAGE (Stage 4) The products are stored in specially designed cold rooms whose operation increases the life of the products. The onions are prepared for long-term storage, as they are placed in the chambers in August and can remain there until the following April without suffering any deterioration, both in their quality characteristics and in the total quantity of disposal. Carrots are stored in booths, allowing them to be distributed during the winter months when harvesting is impossible due to weather conditions. The supply of the most suitable mechanical equipment is one of the most important investments of the last years in our company, so that we are able to compensate for the ever-increasing energy costs. PACKAGING (Stage 5) Both carrots and onions are packaged in specially designed areas where all hygiene protocols are observed to ensure quality. Our company is fully harmonized with the "IFS" standard and follows 2 separate packaging lines per type (carrots - onions) using the most modern machines. DISTRIBUTION (Stage 6) The final stage of our company's activity is the distribution of products. At this stage, our cooperating forwarders distribute to a variety of large retail stores, where the final consumer has easy access to these products of high nutritional value. The key to success in all stages of our activity, is the timeless consistency towards the consumer as well as the selection of the appropriate valued external partners, who contribute dynamically to the support of our company. |
